Almaty Health Department and «Nobel AFF» JSC signed a memorandum

The VI International Investment and Innovation Forum "Almaty Invest - 2018" was held in Almaty. The forum was attended by over 1,000 high-ranking participants, including authoritative politicians, world and domestic business leaders, heads of investment corporations, financial institutions and international organizations. Akim of Almaty, Mr. Bauyrzhan Baybek, noted in his speech, more than 10% of the country's population lives in Almaty, and together with the Almaty agglomeration — about 3 million people. According to international consultants, by 2035, the population is expected to increase by almost 2 times. Among the factors that make Almaty attractive for investments, Mr. Bauyrzhan Baybek noted human capital, developed infrastructure and a favorable investment climate.

Within the framework of the forum, seven memorandums of cooperation were signed. In particular, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Almaty Health Department and Nobel Almaty Pharmaceutical Factory JSC on the construction of a new pharmaceutical works in the city. The Memorandum will serve the general interest and contribute to the effective implementation of relevant health tasks.

A Managing Director of Nobel AFF JSC, Ms. Svetlana Kil commented on the signing of the Memorandum, the pharmaceutical industry is one of the most high-tech industries. For its development, human capital is very important, implying a high scientific and educational potential that exists in our country. In terms of pharmaceutical production, Almaty takes one of the leading places among other regions of Kazakhstan. In 2002, “Almaty Pharmaceutical Factory” joined the Nobel Pharmaceuticals Group of Companies (Turkey). It was then that the first investments were made in the modernization (upgrading) of production and the introduction of GMP standards. After the adoption of the Program of Forced Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2009, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Almaty, two additional investment projects were implemented and the existing production expanded. Today, Nobel Almaty Pharmaceutical Factory JSC has five (5) production sites and is in the top 10 companies by share in the Kazakhstan pharmaceutical market. The company is constantly increasing its export volume.
